4 Years Old Painter Aelita Andre

4 years old Australian artist Aelita Andre is described as an “up-and-coming master of abstract impressionism and surrealism” and has been compared to Picasso. Her art has been selling since she was a two-year-old for up to $24,000. Here is a selection of paintings she produced from age 1 to 4.

Looks like a 4 year old painted these.

Any 4 year old will do this when given paint. This is not art.

the fact that this is being called art is why i pray daily for a visit from the death star.

This is a ridiculous article. Given the proper paint supplies any child could do this. Obviously the canvases are primed and given a base color first. Do they choose the colors that they give the child as well? Pffft, find your fifteen minutes of fame else where and stop using your child for attention.

I understand it being something cute to put up on the wall in your home but to pay $24,000 for it? The wealth distribution in society is so messed up. Shame on you people.

All you need is some 'expert' to exaggerate the greatness and you have yourself a genius. The introduction of post-modernism is the most ridiculous thing society has done. This is art. But it's art in a very stupid way.

I agree with all of the above comments. If I gave my 2year old niece some good quality oil paints and a pre-prepared canvas this is probably what would happen.

@Tony,you're right post-modernism is BS!! A black square on a white canvas is not art…

Personally Id rather buy painting by Elephants http://www.elephantartgallery.com/paintings/ the money goes to a good cause rather than some pretentious 4yo s#*t

this girl's "work" is living proof that modern art is pure elitist bullshit. pollack, de kooning, picasso. all of them. bullshit.

I actually like a lot of these. Oh – but these were painted by a four year old! She can’t possibly know what she’s doing, so these must be terrible!

Just because a four year old can do it (whether she actually does or not) doesn’t suddenly make the color combinations and organic shapes uninteresting and unappealing.

To test this theory of how "any four year old" could do this, I gave my 4 year old cousin one of my canvases and a couple of my cheapest paints I could find . . It came out exactly like these . Where's my $24,000 ? By the way , even if these paintings were 10 times better they still wouldn't be anywhere close to Picasso's , so that's a lie . This whole thing is ridiculous .

SHE LOVE A LOT THE RED COLOR

I agree. Parents can be proud of their kids, yes, but using their artwork to manipulate people into thinking it’s something worth $24,000 is setting a terrible example for your child. The only way to get rich is to scam people instead of working for it like most people. I suppose that anyone who does buy her artwork for that much deserves what coming to them for being so stupid and not discovering their own “creativity”. Have her do drawings instead of splattering paint. See how much those sell for. Nada.

This is not art! How could you compare this to Picasso???
    Picasso would cry.

BTW I “love” the picture where shes dramatically splattering paint, and theres paint all over her face like she worked on it for days.

THIS A TOTAL FRAUD, THE PARENTS PAINTED THESE WORKS, THE LITTLE GIRLS ADDED SOME FEATURES THATS ALL. THERE IS NOT ONE VIDEO DONE THAT SHOWS THE LITTLE GIRL GIRL DOING ANY OF THE COMPLEX PAINTINGS. RUSSIAN MOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER, PAINTER FATHER = TYPICAL SCAM ON ART FOOLS.
