Jill Sylvia’s Paper Art

I love my dogs, reading books, and taking great pictures with my battered but still functional digital camera. Taking great pictures with a high end camera is almost too easy, producing fantastic images with an outdated one is an accomplishment by itself.

A paper airplane is something anyone can make. Delicate paper sculptures on the other hand, are Jill Sylvia’s specialty. She likes to make art out of lined sheets of paper. Ledgers and other official sheets are easy prey. Cutting paper may seem like an easy task until you look a little closer at how precise Sylvia’s work is. One slip of her hand and she’ll have to do the whole thing again. The results of her painstaking labor are delicately lace-like. Not content with simple paper cutouts, goes even further and sculpts buildings out of these cutouts.
