Judging a Book by Its Cover – Composite Images by Joel Parés
Joel Parés is a former US Marine who used to shoot people with a rifle. These days, he shoots them with a camera. During his travels as a Marine, he cultivated his passion and skills in photography. He is the photographer behind this eye-opening series which highlights the hard-wired prejudices that we have. We tend to make a snap judgement about a person we just met based solely on their ethnicity, economic status, and sexual preferences. He said: “Many of us judge incorrectly by someone’s ethnicity, by their profession, and by their sexual interest,” Parés told PetaPixel. “The purpose of this series is to open our eyes and make us think twice before judging someone, because we all judge even if we try not to.”
