A new world record has just been set, as a private collector purchased one of Peter Lik’s photos for $6.5 million.
For those of you who don’t know, Peter Lik is an Australian landscape photographer with multiple galleries around the world.
The print that sold was called “Phantom,” and it was black-and-white, taken in Arizon’a Antelope Canyon. The previous record for most expensive photograph was held by Anreas Gursky’s “Rhein II,” which sold for $4.3 million in 2011.
