The beautifully preserved City Hall station from 1904 is a piece of art by itself. It was closed in 1945 and has not been open to the public ever since. What a shame!

MS Allure of the Seas is a cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. Together with her sister ship, Oasis of the Seas, she holds the record for the largest passenger ship ever constructed, 360 metres, although the Allure is 50 millimetres longer than the Oasis, making her technically the largest despite the fact that both ships have identical superstructures. It holds 16 passenger decks, can receive 5400 passengers and cruises at a 22 knots speed.

Stirling Prize for architecture 2010 has been awarded to MAXXI.

The MAXXI – National Museum of the 21st Century Arts is a national museum dedicated to contemporary creativity, located in the Flaminio neighbourhood of Rome, Italy. It is managed by a foundation created by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities. It was designed as a multidisciplinary space by Zaha Hadid and committed to experimentation and innovation in the arts and architecture.

The $1 billion, 27 story tower block in Mumbai was built to be the home of Mukesh Ambani — the richest man in India, fourth richest man in the world. As well as having a health club with a gym and dance studio, at least one swimming pool, a ballroom, guestrooms, 9 elevators, a variety of lounges and a 50-seater cinema, the tower also has 3 helipads on the roof, and a parking garage with capacity for 160 cars in the lower floors. The most expensive single-family home has been left lying empty for what is now more than a year since its completion. The reason being given is that it doesn’t have enough eastern facing windows.

After the has world renowned Singapore Marina Bay Sands, international architect Moshe Safdie has been appointed as the lead designer of the Bishan Central condominium project. The Bishan development will be two 38-storey towers linked by three bridging “sky gardens”, which offer opportunities for commonly shared garden and leisure spaces for the 540 units designed for cosmopolitan living. Residents on the upper floors will enjoy views of Bishan Park. The project is still in the development stage and the condominiums will be ready up for sale by early 2012 with Temporary Occupation Permits up for grabs by 2015.

Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore features a 2,561-room hotel, a 1,300,000-square-foot convention-exhibition centre, a 800,000-square-foot  mall, an iconic ArtScience museum, two large theatres, seven “celebrity chef” restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, an ice skating rink, and the world’s largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340m-long SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world’s largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m.

Vaucluse Renovation

Bruce Stafford Architects have designed the renovation of an existing house which was originally an 80′s style multi-tenancy building in Sydney, Australia. Only the external walls were retained to comply with the approved council envelope. A completely new look for the house was designed, both inside and out.
