Andre Kohn’s Figurative Impressionism

Andre Kohn is one of today’s most prominent leader of figurative impressionism. The only child of artistically gifted parents, his talent was nurtured in the halls of the University of Moscow where he studied with the last generation of Russian Impressionist. In his first year of college, Kohn’s burgeoning gift earned him a prestigious invitation from the Artist’s Union of Bulgaria to stage a one-man show. Today, this Arizona-based painter travels the world for inspiration and even takes the time to continue his formal, classical studies in France. Andre Kohn strives to find the extraordinary in the ordinary in his art, evocatively capturing the play of light and movement in the most mundane subjects like people dancing, reading, and walking in the rain.
