German photographer Alexandra Klever does something wholly unconventional when she photographs kids who are NOT smiling. These are kids who are on the verge of tears, crying, just finished crying, about to throw a tantrum, and thinking of the pros and cons of throwing a tantrum. To highlight their expressions, she placed her subjects against a blank background and clothed them identically in a sleeveless white undershirt.
