Rural Landscapes – Aerial Photography by Alex MacLean

Alex MacLean is a veteran aerial photographer who has been photographing the rural landscape since 1975. He has a Master’s degree in architecture and flying was his way of performing site analysis. He was captivated by what he saw while up in the sky “in part because of its natural response to environmental conditions, climates, soils and topography.” According to MacLean: “There’s nothing like flying in a small aircraft with the window open and watching the dramatic and quickly changing landscape evolve.
