Game of Thrones Playing Card Designs and Disney Selfies – Illustrations by Simona Bonafini

Simona Bonafini is a very talented Italian artist who took it upon herself to create these awesome Game of Thrones inspired playing card designs. She’s also the artist behind these hilarious illustrations of famous Disney characters taking selfies of themselves.

Her depiction of these well-loved characters is spot on. The illustrations are simply oozing with the character’s personality and traits.

Selfie Fables imagines a world where fairy tale characters have access to social media. Complete with hash tags and comments, the series has gained quite a following over the internet since its inception at the beginning of the year.

It started with Alice and the Mad Hatter’s selfie and quickly progressed to Peter Pan, Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Little Mermaid. We even have an eyeful of Hercules’s rock hard, six-pack abs just after he’s done at the gym.

The G.O.T. inspired playing cards, on the other hand, are filled with all the bad-ass characters from the series – Baratheons, Lannisters, and of course, Starks. The cards are color-coded too, red for Lannisters, green for Starks, and blue for Baratheons.

Her designs are so filled with attitude they look like they could kill with a glance – just like the characters they’re based on. It would be great if she did an illustration of all the characters in the series, but given the sheer number of them, that might not entirely be feasible. I for one, would love to see these playing cards become a reality.

I’d love to see more of Bonafini’s work. She’s one up-and-coming artist I’ll definitely keep an eye on.
